"The Philosophers" was selected to be part of an exhibition at the Attleboro Museum of Art, in Attleboro, MA. The exhibit is entitled "Seeing Double" and runs from July 7th - August 4th.

- For the last several years my sculptural work has become largely kinetic and interactive. It is often witty, profound and provocative. Much of it seems to exist in the realm of the unlikely. These days, my mind is in a whirl, trying to understand how to make very complicated things appear to be smooth, slow and coordinated.
My daughter and I saw "Philosopher" at the Attleboro museum this morning. We both marveled at its seeming simplicity, and wondered how the bulbs are powered. She thinks it is controlled from below the podium and I think there are L.E.D.s inside the bulbs. But, Don't reveal the secret. Like magic tricks, part of the joy of this piece is not knowing how it's done. I especially enjoy works of art that have a whimsical side to them. Thanks for sharing your art with us.
ReplyDelete"Double vision" is a wonderful exhibit. I encourage all who can to catch it. Now I must make my way over to the Danforth Museum to see your sculptures there.
